Okay, so last Saturday I went to a friend's going away party! She got a job working for NASA (yeah... those engineers lol). I was expecting to go out afterwards, though that ended up not happening. But, to be prepared just in case I did go out I decided to try a purple smokey eye. I am a huge fan of purple eyeshadow, think it looks fabulous on everyone and anyone.
So I got the smokey eye idea from Mamagee on youtube. Here is the video:
I didn't have the exact eyeshadows that she used, so here is what I did (besides, I figured as long as it was similar it would work):
1.) Applied urban decay primer potion all over the eye
2.) Applied NYX Jumbo pencil in Black Bean onto the lid and spread it around, also bring the black bean under the eye
3.) Applied Ulta brand eyeshadow in Galaxy (I could have used carbon as well, but I've had Galaxy for so much longer and I want to get through that.... besides, it has sparkles!)
4.) Applied Laura Mercier eyeshadow in Chambord right above (not over) the black
5.) Applied MAC eyeshadow in Plum Dressing above (not over) the Chambord
6.) I used MAC Arena as my highlight
7.) Blended away the harsh lines
8.) Lined my eyes with Black Radiance Fine Line Liquid Liner in black (not really sure of the purpose lol)
9.) Applied Mabelline Lash Stiletto to my eyelashes
10.) Voila!
Here are some pics:
Don't mind my eye's in the one above, it was kind of a goofy picture lol
I wish I had remembered to take one with my eyes closed at the time. My skin looks absolutely dreadful in these pics, I recently started a new skin care line/regimen like two weeks ago and it has made my skin look crazy! But the whole purpose is to increase my skin turnover rate to even out my skin tone and reveal smoother skin! And finally... I've stopped breaking out, and my skin is starting to peel less, sorry if this is tmi!
But, this look has me thinking of trying the same exact same thing with blue, green, maybe even browns. If I do that, I'll be sure to post the pics up here!

Been a Minute!
I know it's be a bit since I update.... and I just started right! Well, I got my order's already and I am IN LOVE with my MAC palette, my MUFE stuff... actually, just about everything!!!
So here are some pics of what I got.
Sephora Sale: Urban decay primer potion, MUFE HD Primer in Caramel #4, MUFE HD Powder, Kat von D Eyeliner in Love Metal, and two Sephora eyeshadow brushes.
These are the MAC eyeshadows that I purchased, and you can see which ones in the post below this one.
And this is what it looked like when it was all set-up. I told you that the colors looked different from online!
So, I am just starting out in trying to get better with make-up. But I've been looking at many video's on youtube, and I am definitely gaining more confidence in my make-up application skills. As I go through looks, I will try to remember to post them on here, including how I did it, or the video that I copied it from.
I actually ended up picking up quite a few other stuff since then.... which I seriously need to stop. I am a broke college student, and I can't be spending all of my work money on make-up. Since then I've bought two MAC Paintpots (groundwork and artifact), some NYX Jumbo pencils, and the Sephora Platinum Airbrush #55.
Now, I can't stop raving about this brush, this is by far the best foundation brush that I have ever used. Though, that's not saying much seeing as this is only my second. I have used the typical semi-liquid compact foundation brush, the MAC 190 brush (which I have long stopped using and has just been gathering dust), and I have also used my fingers. This brush just applies make-up so flawlessly on my face, I really do look airbrushed, it's incredible. When I was buying it the woman at the counter started to tell me how amazing this brush is. Definitely a great investment, and I will definitely be buying one for my sister!

First Post and What to Expect!
I love blogging, had a few blogs before but I can't say that I ever kept up with them. But this one will be different, this one will be like a personal/make-up/clothing blog... or just whatever I feel like at the moment. I can definitely guarantee that I will be blogging about my life, but also about my new found hobby... make-up!!! Loves it!
Tips and tricks that I learn or hear of, I will be letting you guys know all about them.... which I will be starting with this one, E.L.F. make-up brushes. Now I've heard about these brushes for a bit, and I was a little nervous about buying some low-cost make-up brushes. But I've heard so much about this one that I knew it was something that I had to try out, besides, I didn't have much to lose.
I bought three of them, I bought the dual brow brush/eyelash comb, the eyeshadow brush, and I think it's called the eye-shadow shader or blender brush (sorry, I already trashed the packaging). I've used the first two already and I have to say that they are pretty good! Even though it has shed a few hairs already, it's soft, and really get the eye-shadow well. Much better than the cheapie brushes that I've had in the past. I even went and bought two more of the eye shadow brushes. I don't know why, since I already ordered an eye make-up brush set from Sephora. I think I will definitely be using these long term though, they just feel so great!
I guess that last thing I should mention is that I'm about to order a custom palette of eyeshadow from MAC! I'm so excited, originally I was just going to order an eye-shadow set from Sephora, but some of the colors looked like they would work but a lot of them also didn't. I don't think that the color selection for darker skinned women was that great. This is what I plan on getting:
I went to the store, and asked the lady there at the counter and she helped me pick out all these colors.... well I tried a few of them by myself, and they all looked great! I actually never tried the plum dressing, just after trimming down my list a little bit afterwards (by cutting out two black shades) and not being able to find two of the purple shades I wanted I decided to add plum dressing. I already have humid and deep truth, but I just thought that those were my only two stand alone MAC colors that I would want to add to my palette. If you are a darker skinned lady, I can guarantee that all of them (except Plum Dressing since I didn't see that myself) will look great on dark skin. When I receive the order I will take a pic and post because these don't look the same in person as they show online. Even though MAC eyeshadows are a bit pricey, they last for a VERY long time because they are highly pigmented. There are eyeshadows that I've had since high school that still look like they are barely used. Then again.... I don't wear eye-make up on a daily basis so that could be why.
So that's a bit about those stuff, but don't worry, you will get to know quite a bit about me as this blog goes on..... so be patient!
